    The Company

    As our Technical Director – Marketing Services, you will be leading and managing a highly motivated and talented team of Technical Leads, Engineers and Data Scientists. The size of the team is currently 20 people, with the ambition to grow further and span multiple offices across multiple countries. The team builds and operates a large scale data pipeline as well as a suite of analytics and Business Intelligence products.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Our Tech team is a great mix of young, ambitious and talented engineers and experienced engineers and Technical Leads. We pride ourselves on working with the right tools for the job, often working with emerging and cutting edge technologies. Our stack is based on Java and Scala and built on a highly-available and distributed cluster of Apache Server / Cassandra / Hadoop / Kafka and Redis. We collect close to a billion data points a day which we process in real-time and batch modes for behavioural analysis and inference as well as for web analytics and scoring purposes.

    • Lead, recruit, manage, retain and motivate a cross-functional team of Technical Leads, Engineers and Data Scientists to deliver on products and projects according to business priorities
    • Own the P&L for technical delivery for Marketing Services – accountable for budget definition and delivery within agreed limits
    • Actively contribute to defining and delivering technology and product strategy for Marketing Services working with stakeholders in product, client services and sales teams
    • Deliver projects to expected timelines, but also recognise the importance of good design, thorough QA and regular refactoring and code improvement
    • Write server-side and client-side code for web-based applications and systems, create robust scalable production systems and applications, and develop prototypes quickly
    • Build a culture of continuous improvement around internal systems, tools and processes to deliver on commercial and organisational goals
    • Contribute to our platforms, systems and networking infrastructure, responsible for key metrics relating to performance and service availability

    • A broad range of experience of managing technical teams
    • Hands on experience with the technologies we use
    • Experience building and managing big data platforms
    • Experience with data processing, modelling and analysis
    • Experience of the digital marketing eco-system
    • Experience with product and technology strategy and working with senior stakeholders
    • Experience with mentoring and motivating junior and senior technical staff
    • Be able to delegate and empower his / her team without losing control
    • Be able to operate in an agile environment
    • Be friendly, approachable, enthusiastic and motivated
